The BIM use cases identified here are those being currently used by buildingSMART International for their annual awards. This site provides the latest update to this body of work currently underway in developing a schema and classification for BIM Use Cases. It is available for all to use. The four phases identified by bSI are set up because of the wide variety of project phases in use today in various parts of the world. If you have others, please provide and we will list them.

Working Group Meeting Information
USE CASE CLASSIFICATION PHILOSOPHY WORKGROUP first meeting was held on July 22, 2020, to discuss how to classify Use Cases better. Since the group is discussing ongoing standards work, it is felt that the information should not be shared publically until it is completed. Please contact Deke Smith should you have ideas to share. We are hoping to conclude our work in late 2020 or early 2021. It is intended that the results of the work will be posted here as well as on the bSI Use Cae Management tool website.
